DO – French tuck or tie
Not all tops require this, but a lot do! By simply tucking the front of your top into your pants (or tying a knot if you’re wearing a t-shirt or button-up), you’re elongating your legs and making yourself look way more put-together.
DO – cuff your denim
If your jeans hit below your ankle, cuffing them can actually elongate your legs! It also creates a little gap between your jeans and your shoes, preventing them from blending together (makes it look like you put in a little effort, even if you didn’t).
DON’T – show off your socks
Save your crazy patterned socks for when you’re chillin’ at home! Having visible socks can make you look sloppy, and they take away from the cute shoes you’re wearing! No-show socks are your best friend. Wear them with sneakers, booties, anything!
DON’T – mix your metals
This is a controversial one, and sometimes this rule is meant to be broken! But most of the time, keeping your accessories cohesive makes you look much more chic. If the buttons on your jacket are silver, reach for silver accessories. If your hoops are gold, reach for a gold bracelet.
