Hi friends! We’re so excited to be talking about purpose and calling with you 🙂 The Lord has been teaching us so much about this topic in our individual lives, so we wanted to share a little piece of that with you! We’re going to be going live on Instagram in a few hours to dive deeper into this topic, and just have a conversation about it! We can’t wait to talk with you, hear your thoughts, and share our hearts with y’all.
Your life is so so meaningful. Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” Friend, you were created ON purpose, FOR a purpose. You are KNOWN. God created your life with a specific purpose and calling in mind, that only YOU can fulfill.
As the Lord has been speaking to me over the past few months about purpose and calling, I struggled with wondering what exactly the calling is that He has placed over MY life in particular. God began to highlight the major things in my life that I’m passionate about, then I learned that what I’m passionate about isn’t random – it’s my calling. And the same goes for you! How has God equipped you? What desires has He placed in your heart? Where is He leading you? Your purpose and calling has to do with those things – that’s how you were created! When God calls you to something, He has so much purpose in it. Most of the time, it requires stepping out of your comfort zone, but you don’t need to fear it. His callings over our lives aren’t about our abilities alone! Live your life according to the Word of God, resist the status quo of what the world is telling you to do, and just watch what the Lord is able to through you to impact the world around you.
The thing about your calling/dream, is that not everyone will understand it. It wasn’t revealed to them, and that’s okay! It was revealed to YOU for a reason. You don’t have to force people to see it in the same way you do. Not everyone will approve of your calling, celebrate it, support it, encourage it, or even stick around to see it through with you. But DO what you are called to do. Be selfish over it! Don’t let anyone dictate who you are or how you live your life – let the Lord do that. And if you’re not sure if you’re living out your calling, just be faithful with what you’ve been placed over in your life RIGHT NOW. There’s a reason the Lord has you in this season of your life in this very moment, but that doesn’t mean that it’s okay to just sit there dormant. LIVE ON PURPOSE! Jesus intends for our lives to have progress and movement. It can be scary to pursue what you believe God is calling you to do, but action kills fear! Don’t settle for a place that is meant to be a stepping stone to your destination.
In addition to the individual callings we have on our lives, we’re all called to LOVE one another! No matter our differences, we’re called to lead with kindness and compassion. You really never know what people are going through, so love WELL. Especially as a Christian, I want people to be able to look at me and see Jesus. Even further, I want people to be able to see past me, and see the light of TRUE LIFE in me. As Christians, we’re all called to preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15), and show Jesus not only through our words, but through our actions as well. And I think we do that by loving how Jesus loves. Unconditionally, patiently, and gently.
. . .
We hope this post inspired you to want to live out the calling that God has over your life! You were so uniquely made, and you were created to live out a purpose that only YOU can fulfill. Let’s go on this journey together of living ON purpose – encouraging each other to live out our callings to the fullest, and to resist the status quo of how society says we “should” be living. Don’t let compromise into what God is telling you to do. You are loved, valued, and you were created ON purpose, FOR a purpose. Let’s live like it!
Dang your brother is so cool!
